Early in 1889, Bethlehem Baptist Church was birthed in the home of James & Dollie Dickerson who along with a few men and women of the community met to discuss the establishment of a Baptist church in McKeesport, PA. By October of the year, Bethlehem Baptist Church was established with fifteen (15) members under the pastorate of Rev. Thomas Ford. Church Services were held in the Dickerson's home in Christy Park for many years.
